Many children after hemispherectomy, temporal lobectomy, or corpus callosotomy struggle with hearing and listening issues. Some may be overly sensitive to certain sounds, while others are unable to distinguish conversation in a loud room.

Hearing and listening involve complicated brain circuits than can be disrupted by any surgery which removes or disconnects the temporal lobe or the corpus callosum. This session will give you an overview of how the brain hears, how hearing and listening are affected by certain brain surgeries, and what you can do to to better understand your child's auditory challenges.
